Stops responding when trying to move files.

I'm hoping that this is the correct section to post this in. Every time i try to move files in my pictures folder, or my music, etc, it totally freezes up. The files get no where, it says "Program not Responding" at the top of the window, it glazes over. When i try to click the close button i get the window in the image i attached, please have a look.

This is really starting to bug me, I'm trying to move files from a USB stick, and it wont work. I try to organize my pictures, or my music, and it wont work. This seems to happen off and on, randomly. Ill be organizing or moving something, then an hour later it wont work.

Welcome to Vista Forums.

Does this only happen when you have the USB drive plugged in, or off and on all the time regardless?

Do you have any 3rd party image image viewing or file organizing program installed that may be interfering?


In the mean time, you might run a sfc /scannow command to see if it can find and fix any bad system files. You can see how in this tutorial.

To have your attached image display, you would just click on the paperclip icon again and select the attached image to insert it into the post.
