C: 2 Program files Folders???

    C: 2 Program files Folders???

    I was reviewing my C: drive and noted that there are 2 Program Files folders.** One says Program Files -- 21 folders** One says Program Files (x86) -- 31 foldersSo, whats the real deal, eh???Joey

    Hi Joey,

    You will only see this in the 64 bit version of Vista. The Program Files (x86) folder is for the installed 32 bit programs, and the Program Files folder is for the installed 64 bit programs. It's just a way to help keep them organized better by MS since there are two versions of some programs installed.

    Gotcha and Thanks! Yeah, I'm new to the 64-Bit world, but have already noticed things are much quicker and snappier. Than again it could just be the new PC, either way, I'm liking it! Found this site today as a result of needing help and I must say, this is a very active site with quick postings!!
