| Newbie Rep Power: 4  |  Can't access my old Documents folder from XP HD in Vista I had a system with XP crash on me and I just want to pull data off the SATA drive. Vista sees it fine and I can pull almost all the data off. However, when I go into the Document and Settings folder on the XP drive, I can see my user account. But when I try to access it, I'm told "You don't currently have permission to access this folder". I've tried resetting ownerships but am admittedly somewhat confused even after extensive Google/forum searching on permissions. Any way to access this folder from my Vista setup? Thanks a ton in advance, Paul |

You might see if taking ownership of the folder first will let you have access afterwards. This tutorial will show you how if needed. Take Ownership of file Hope this helps, Shawn |
