Unfortunately, because you are using a television as your monitor, you are restricted to this refresh rate as this is what the TV uses. In order to have a greater refresh rate, you will need to use a proper computer monitor. Dwarf |

There are alternate NVidia drivers for vista customized for gaming and some small bugs... OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the ATI & NVIDIA Omega Drivers. NVIDIA IMHO: Its quite pathetic how NVidia really fu##ed up this new driver/application model they are now using, its a huge headache trying to figure out how to get some parts of the NVidia software to work correctly under Vista/XP on any model of card connected with TV`s or some secondary monitors that use the "new model". Its a hit and miss what does/does`nt work on nvidia Cards these days thanks to the application they now use, have a look around the nvidia forums about the issues there are hundreds of posts littering nvidia`s forums about it... |

From your last post, it sounds as though you should be able to set the refresh rate to 100Hz. Check the settings in Display Properties. Note that I do not recommend using a TV as a computer monitor, particularly a CRT type as the image they produce is generally not sharp and clear enough for constant computer use. If space is at a premium, why not buy a flat screen monitor and mount it on the wall? Because of the difference in technology between CRT and LCD/TFT displays, the need of high refresh rates is no longer there - note that there is NO connection between screen refresh rates and frame refresh rates in games. This is because of the difference in the way the different technologies operate. In the older CRT version, the image is drawn on the screen by an electron beam. At any instant of time, the beam is illuminating just 3 sub-pixels on the screen before rapidly moving along to the next set. Immediately the electron beam moves away, the sub-pixels that have just been activated begin to fade. The screen refresh rate is set so that the electron beam scans the whole screen many times each second. Because of a feature of your eyesight, known as 'Persistance of Vision', you see a complete image on the screen. With the newer LCD/TFT displays, this problem does not occur. Pixels on these types of displays stay in their current state until an input signal causes them to change. In this case, the default refresh rate of 60HZ common to most graphics cards is sufficient. In fact, many LCD/TFT monitor displays only operate at that refresh rate irrespective of the screen size or resolution (note that the best display is obtained when using the native settings, e.g. 1440 x 900, 60Hz, 32-bit colour). | Member Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Re: I need some help, this bugging me Guys, Ive sorted the problem with the non pnp monitor, i went into the monitor driver and chose a generic pnp and it worked. What i do need is to find a driver that allows me to set my refresh rates to what i had before, now in vista64 it seems alittle harder, ive tried a few and the screen where you can do this doesnt even show up, ill have to keep trying different drivers. Or maybe because it was set to non pnp monitor now that ive corrected it with generic pnp monitor it might work. Im def gonna get a hdtv 1080p, ive seen a great toshiba that has everything i need esp 3 hdmi connections for my 360, ps3 and PC as well as all the other connections and stuff just gotta save my money. Is there a software that force your refresh rate even if they switch, |
