windows experience ram score drop

Hi when changing from an asus maximus formula to a evga 780i sli I have suffered a windows experience score drom on my memory was 5.9 now only 5.7.surely this mem should score 5.9 OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 (OCZ2G8004GK) timings CL 5-5-5-18 .

can any one shed some light on this memory score dropping?

ive got the ocz platinum rev 2 4-4-4-15 and i only score 5.6 with it on a gigabyte board

i did think i would score higher too

well mine has been 5.9 so something must be wrong .I got bios settings on auto at moment for ram though I have increased voltage to 2.1v

Since the Vista score measures throughput, 4GB will generally score lower than 2GB (even if it's faster). But don't worry, even if your score drops, Vista generally runs faster with more RAM, especially when loading any program that manipulates large files (including games).

As I have 64 bit i am running 8 Gb not sure how much is being used .seems quick enough lol for the money I have spent it should be doing chores and serving cold beers too!!

I wouldn't worry about your score. I went from a 5.9 (old mobo 2GB DDR400MHz) to a 5.4 (new mobo 4GB DDR2 800MHz). Then I added 4GB (8GB total) more and dropped to a 5.0. But my system is faster when encoding video, compressing files and loading games.
