Drag and Drop - vista 64-bit

ok, I'm a desktop publisher/graphic designer by trade. and i damn well can't drag and drop files from explorer into photoshop or illustrator, or Filezilla for uploading.

a quick fix i did was to give my major programs admin rights (*.exe > RMB > properties > compatibility "run this program as an administrator")

this seems to work but it is fussy as to when it wants to work 100% of the time.

Also any programs that need to run as xp compatible (eg: yz-dock) can not have the drag and drop ability as they in turn are running at xp compatible being a "child" as it were of yz-dock. once the same shortcut is on the desktop....it works ok.

NB: my design programs are in the task bar/quickstart area and not on yz-dock. hence my concerns.

anyone got any workarounds/solutions for this?

Right click on the picture in explorer --> copy
Then paste into the program you want.

Alternitivly save the picture onto your system from explorer, then open it using the gfx package you want to use it with.

I have photoshop CS2 and a folder with 450 odd jpegs, bmps and giffs.

I open the folder.... highlight the pics I want (in this case I picked 12 random pics)

Left click and dragged to the awaiting Photoshop...all pics opened up fine.

Not sure what your problem is there... drags and drops fine for me...

Edit: just to double check I opened filezilla and I managed to drag and drop into there too....

Re: Drag and Drop - vista 64-bit

hey Clevo, do u have any tweaks to ur vista system (post install) ...if so, what?

hmmmm......might be the "run as admin" that is blocking the drag and drop.
