help with missing documents folder

Hi,

I had relocated my Documents and Pictures to folders on a separate drive (E:DATA), using the techniques mentioned in the tutorials here and elsewhere. Everything worked okay.

Yesterday I moved my OS onto a new hard drive and the link to the Documents and Pictures got messed up. I think this because the letter for the DATA drive was changed to G:DATA. My other personal folders (the ones I never modified) are okay. Right-clicking on the Documents and Pictures folders reveals them to be "normal" folders. The location tabs are missing.

I checked the registry in the user shell folders and modified the Pictures and Personal to G:\documents and G:\Pictures. Rebooted, but still no luck. The folders don't link to the DATA drive, and nothing has changed in terms of the location tab missing.

Tonight I will try the shell commands as mentioned in one of the tutorials, but if that doesn't work (not sure if it is applicable to my situation) then what next?

Thanks!

Shawn Brink created a tutorial that might help. Hope so.
