After i've logged of and logged in on a deifferent account i cannot play flash videos like from youtube. If i restart the computer flash is working fine. I'm using vista 64 home premium. Have anybody encountered similar problems.

I've also a weird update problem with the desktop. Sometimes popup menus items images will stick on the desktop after the popup menu is already gone.

More specifically when i log off and log on again i get this weird flash player behavior. When i have a fresh restart everything seem to be working. I have a standard user account.

@dmex
I tried the link and i see that i have a 9.0.124.0 version of flash player running. If i click on the showcase for flash i see that there aren't any. But i can see the shockwave showcases.

I will also check if this behavior occurs when i'm working under admin.

your help is appreciated

I don't think it has something to do with a lack of user rights, because the admin account has the same problem.

I think it might be related to the update or refresh problem i posted in the beginning of this thread. I've this strange behavior with the task manager where it isn't updating its contents. Only if a've a fresh restart it updates its contents (and surprisingly then the flash player is also working)
Can it have something to do with the graphics card or more specifically graphics driver in relation with directx. I'm running the aero desktop.

I've a Club3D 9800X2 card, the driver version is 7.15.11.7474 from 23-3-2008. The digital signer indicates that its "Microsoft windows hardware compatibility publisher"

I don't want to change major components in Vista unless i've strong clues that it's causing problems. I've some bad experiences with updating graphics drivers.

Yes it has to do, but in your case if you have the same problem with admin account, it is different.

Try to uninstall the flash player plug-in and activeX control.
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

You need Admin rights to deinstall and reinstall
Before running the app, close ALL your applications (IE, explorer, messenger etc...)
Reboot and try installing again the player.

It's just a test, i suppose that flash is working fine when you run the test, but does it work fine when you change user?
If yes, i don't understand your problem?
If no (when you change user), then deinstall and reinstall as said above, it has nothing to see with the version N°, just to see with a misconfiguration at 1st install and reinstalling when 1st install is present will not change your problem.
