Vista Home Premium 'Start' Icon does nothing.

The skinny.

Had a blue screen for no apparent reason 2 days ago.

Reboot and everything worked fine.

This morning I woke up with my system in reboot cycle constantly asking for Safe Mode.

Powered down, powered up.

Installed newest windows updates.

No option to restart but I know its best to do it.

Click the Vista 'Start' icon. It flickers like it was interacted with but no menu appears. Restarted and it still doesn't work.

I've tried googling but I can't seem to get a word combo to give me anything useful. I have no idea whats up with this. Everything else seems to be working fine since I just got done playing Assassin's Creed without issue.

But uhhh, no start menu kinda worries me of worse things to come, but for now it'd be nice to get my start menu back.

Humm, possibly that a fix or APP did corrupt these files: HotStartUserAgent.dll & msshsq.dll

Replace dll to fix the problem (i hope)

Anyway, run hijackthis to check if the problem is not due to a virus/malware

Hrm. I'll try replacing the dll.

I suck at knowing whats whats on hijack this.

I did get another blue screen right after posting here last night.
