disable boot manager from popping up?

Good afternoon all,

I'm stumped.... Whenever vista loads up, it brings the windows boot manager and makes me have to press enter to boot into vista. If I press tab, it gives me the option to get into windows memory diagnostic. How do I disable all of this to boot straight into vista without having to press enter? this is vista home.

I tried all, looked around and nothing!

Insert your Vista DVD, boot your computer from cd/dvd, Select "Repair your computer" to continue and choose "startup repair".
You can do it manually, but the solution above is safer.

Hi Zigma,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

This tutorial will show you how to uncheck and turn off that option in Method One, or you can also remove the other OS choice in Method Two.

Boot Partition - Default

Not one of the suggestions above has worked for me. Is there ANYONE out there who knows how to stop the Vista Boot Manager from requiring me to click on it before Windows will start?
I am not dual booting and only one install is listed. Why should I have to click on the screen before Vista will start?

Please help.

You can try downloading and installing this program: EasyBCD 1.7.2 It's a Vista boot manager.
1. Once installed, open the program and click "Manage Bootloader" on the left side.
2. Select "Reinstall the Vista Bootloader" and click "Write MBR"
3. After that's completed, click on "Change Settings" on the left side.
4. Now lower the "Bootloader Timeout:" down to 0 and click "Save Settings".

Restart to see if it works. I hope it helps out.
