very slow folder opening

hi all,
I have a folder in my D drive in which i hav 60GB of movies, but whenever i try to open the folder it takes lot of time to show all the files.

But when i access much bigger folders (100GB) in some servers through my network, it opens very quickly(seconds).

Why is it so happening... anyone please help, because even if that movie folder is open once, when i go 'forward' and come 'back' again it takes the same time to load all...

I'm using Windows vista Home edition 32 bit
My processor is 2.2GHz, 2GB ram, 4mb cache, 250GB HDD

I agree with Sid. It appears that it is taking awhile to load the thumbnails for the movie files. You can stop this by either turning the Views toolbar menu option to Details so Vista will not load thumbnails for that window, or turn off all thumbnails in Windows Explorer.

Hope this helps,

No it didn't work, because earlier i have tried this. I have set the folder to load in 'details'.
But after you guys said i was playing with the 'personalize folder' option and i dont remember what exactly made it right, now it loads that folder in no time.

Earlier the settings were -
(mine is an italian version so the words may not be exact)

Utilize this folder as a model for : photo and video

Then i changed this to 'all elements'
It didnt work
Then i clicked to restore defaults
It didnt work
Then i again changed to photo and video
suddenly it worked.

Now even if i load this folder in any view Thumbs, Tiles, Icons, list or details, it loads within no time.

WHAT WAS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM, I'M AFRAID- WILL THIS REVERT AFTER SOMETIME..?

Yes exactly Mr.Admin,
When i translated the italian word 'modello' it became 'model' rather than the correct technical word 'template'.

Now it works fine...
Cheers.....
