    Problem with restarts

Ever since I first built my computer I haven't been able to successfully restart it when using Vista or doing it automatically. When installing Vista it always restarts towards the end of the install and says it will start for the first time. When it restarts my screen goes into sleep mode and the computer just sits there doing nothing with a black screen. I don't know how to resolve this issue that has haunted me from day one. I may need a pre-install driver for my Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R motherboard but the only drivers I can see are RAID drivers and I am not running RAID. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is your bios updated with last version, what is the actual version?
If yes, use the default settings in bios and retry
