| Vista Home Premium 32bit | forgot administrator password but currently logged on I went to the Reset User Account Password site as suggested by Brink in another forum. I have a question about Method One before I try it. It says to logon to the Administrator account. I am already logged on. Can I go to Reset or Change the forgotten password? If so, how? Can I change or reset the password if I don't know the original password? I don't want to try this and get locked out of the computer. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: forgot administrator password but currently logged on Hi Gotony, Welcome to Vista Forums. ![]() Since you do not know what the current password is, you will not be able to use that method unless you do it from within another administrator account. You will most likely need to do Method Three instead. Reset User Account Password Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Windows Vista x64 | Re: forgot administrator password but currently logged on You are able to change your password if you are logged on. This option work only if you are logged as Administrator. Open My Computer->Control Panel-> User Account . Add a new user with administrator privilages. Switch to new user and change password for user where you have forgotten password. After that remove newly added user account. Ps. Sory for English, it's not my native language. Best Regards, Slawek [ Poland ] |
