Windows Experience Index....missing?

I just added more RAM to my machine. I went back to the index to update, and nothing was there. It showed my old score, which needed to be updated, but there weren't any other graphics on the page. Anyone seen this problem before?

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

Does it say "unrated" beside your old WEI? If so you'll need to rerun the tests by clicking on the link next to your old WEI.

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

It does say "unrated". When I hit the hyperlink I'm returned to the blank page. Is there somewhere else to initiate the rating?

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

Hmmm - interesting.

Try Control Panel --> System and Maintenance --> Performance Information and Tools --> Update my Score (located underneath the very large WEI score, on the right hand side....

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

I don't even have the box with all sub scores and/or the large WEI score. Pretty much a blank page.

Hi JimDandy51,

Are you seeing the same screen as this screenshot (top one) in this tutorial of WEI disabled?

Windows Experience Index - Enable or Disable

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

WOW....You're good.
The WEI was disabled. Used the gpedit to make change. It showed "not configured", so I changed to "disabled" and now I'm back in business.

I appreciate the help.

Thanks Brink

Re: Windows Experience Index....missing?

Interesting JimDandy51,

Not configured acts the same as disabled; only the enabled option would have actually disable the WEI. Perhaps it just needed to be toggled to reset the setting for WEI in the registry.

I'm glad to hear that it helped anyway though. Thank you for the feedback. I'll be sure to tell folks to toggle it now to.
