Volume extending in Vista x64?

Hello,
I've recently followed how to extend my Vista disk space using the Computer Management tool. But unfortunately, the Extend Volume is greyed out and is N/A.

I also tried Paragon disk tool and it said "Not available in Vista 64-bit, use Recovery CD".

How do I fix this?

I have 5 partitions in that HDD, I deleted one so now I have 4 used ones and 27.35 GB free space (green). I want to extend my C:/.

That may not be possible. When you have more than 4, partitions 4 and above are created as 'Extended partitions' versus Primary partitions. The simple way to think about it is this - the Extended partition is one big partition, inside of which you can create as many smaller partitions as your like. Unfortunately, as long as that free space is in the extended partition, you cannot merge it with a primary partition (which is what your System partition, aka C: drive, is).

If you deleted the 4th partition and then the extended partition, then you may be able to merge - another factor may be where the partitions are located and where the free space is located as well. IIRC, if the partitions are not adjacent, you may be out of luck as well.

Hmm well I don't think I fully understand what you mean. Anyway here's my setup:

See those little green borders around those 4 partitions (3 partitions and free space)? That green border signifies an extended partition space inside of which you can make many little partitions - which is all good and well. The *disadvantage* of this is that you cannot use free space *inside* the extended partition space to merge with primary partitions (those that do not have the green border).
