Vista - Explorer Tiles View Icon Size

Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the size of the icons when using tile view in explorer? I know I can make the icons bigger by switching to large or extra large icons view but I like the extra information I get from the tiles view, such as drive space. Any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

Hi n1cecupoftea,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

You can use the Advanced Appearance settings to adjust how the space for the icons. In step 6 of this tutorial, you can adjust the Size to a larger number for these Item options for what you are wanting:

1. Icon
2. Icon Spacing (Horizontal)
3. Icon Spacing (Vertical)

Thanks for the reply, I have followed those instructions. Unfortunately they only change the size of the desktop icons. I am trying to change the size of the icons when using tiles view in windows explorer.

A simple way to change the size in explorer is while you are in the details pane to press CTRL key and scroll down/up with the mouse (can be done too for desktop shortcuts)

Thanks for the reply, this does indeed change the size of the icons but does not solve my problem. I would like to continue using the tiles view as it shows extra information. So I would like to change the size of the icons when using tiles view in windows explorer.
