vista 64 install errors

I get a blue screen error when the install tries to "load windows for the first time" when installing vista64

xfx 680i lt sli
q9450 core2 quad
4GB ram
2x 9800gtx sli

any suggestions on a solutions?

If your install DVD doesnt have service pack 1 in it, remove 2 GB of your RAM and try again.

Only have 2GB RAM installed when trying to install Vista.

Let us know if this worked.

    My main rig runs Vista Ultimate or Server 2008. Depending on which Acronis image I decide to load.
er..you did install a hard drive right?

yes memory is the most likely cause, but maybe your sli is drawing too much juice

try 1 video card and add the other later

Uh..I think it would be hard to get to that point of the install without one...since that message is displayed after the Vista image has been installed and is trying to intialize for the first time.

Yes, try the removal of 2G's of RAM and see what happens, but can you please also give us the info from this BSOD? The info on that blue screen just may give the faulting module or device and give us a better clue as to what may be causing this. Copy it EXACTLY and post it please.

What BSOD code did you get? I can lookup the Microsoft database for the cause and resolution.
