Customize "Show Desktop" Button

Hey guys,

Is there a way to customize the "Show Desktop" button in the quick launch so it minimizes everything but what I specify? In my case, when I press the button, I would like for the Sidebar and RocketDock to stay visible.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help, but I don't want the sidebar on top of all the windows. I don't even mind bringing it up using the keyboard shortcut (Windows + Spacebar). The main issue is that RocketDock minimizes when I click the show desktop button, and that's where I've put all of my shortcuts. It'd be very nice if when I pressed the button if it would stay and not get minimized because I would then be left with an empty desktop :(.

Sorry I can't be more help; but I am going to look into RocketDock!

Well, in my case, I'm using that RocketDock program (I know it has a 'Always stay on top' setting, but I don't want that). Generally, I'm speaking about customizing the button so you can choose whichever application(s) to stay open and not get minimized when pressed.

But thanks for your help.

Ok, after some searching, I found the windows keyboard shortcut to minimize all open windows that support the minimize function (Windows logo + m). I did not know about that shortcut, but it works just fine for what I want. Now I don't know how to program simple batch or executable files, so if someone would be nice enough to create one so I could replace "Show desktop" button with a button that has the same icon to mimic the Windows+m key press, that would be great.

Thanks
