| Vista Home Premium x64 | Icons Broken Vista x64 Greetings, Ok so i know this might just be a minor issue but im can't figure out why my icons are not showing up for some "files" like Adobe Extention Packages (.mxp) and (.html, .htm) and such not sure if i have others that are missing really haven't looked at all of them just yet but i can't figure out how to fix that. I am new to the whole x64 Vista so im not sure how it works when it comes to regedit and stuff like that if it's the same as 32 bit. Additionally i have installed IconPackager by Stardock to try and fix it, no luck. Then i tried Microangelo On Display and that didn't work either. Not sure what else to do. Futhermore i have tried changeing the registry key to the default icon like in Vista 32 bit under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\DefaultIcon and setting the Default Value to "1%" and again that didn't work either. So let's just say i don't know where to go from there. Thanks in advance for any help! Chris Windows Vista Home Premium x64 |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Icons Broken Vista x64 Ok so here is a quick update that i find kind of wierd. The the icon files that are missing that i can see are for .html, .htm files, BUT when i browse for html files via Dreamweaver CS3, and other programs like text pad it will show the html files with the appropriate icon. but when i look in the windows explorer it just shows a standard blank white document icon any other suggestions? Thanks Chris |

| Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Icons Broken Vista x64 ok so i tried everything stated above and nothing worked i even tried using 3rd party programs and it still didn't work, but this is what did work and i think it's because i had installed Adobe Dreamweaver is the cause of this but this fixed .html icons right away, ok so i went to Start>Default Programs>Set your default programs> clicked on IE>Set this prgram as default and boom there it is no problems what so ever! Thanks everyone for your help and hope this may help others if anyone encounters the same problems Chris |
