| Vista Home Premium x64 | Computer won't sleep or hibernate! Since installing a recent windows update I have not been able to put my computer in sleep or hibernate mode. Instead of stopping windows, my system only stops the signal to my monitor and keeps running so when I move my mouse the signal continues. Fortunately, it still shuts down, but it makes time spent between cessions with windows increase as I must shut down and boot up each time. I'd rather not pay $60 for Microsoft to listen to me. Here are the details for the update. Is anyone else having this problem? Has it been resolved? Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB947562) Installation date: 27/05/2008 4:48 PM Installation status: Successful Update type: Recommended Install this update to resolve a set of known application compatibility issues with Windows Vista. | Vista Home Premium x64 | Re: Computer won't sleep or hibernate! Are you using a remote or attempting to put it into sleep mode via the start sleep feature? The problem I was having was with the remote until I moved it about 5 feet from the sensor (I put the wireless sensor on the left side of the monitor). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but I still manage (on most nights) to get it to sleep if not with the remote then with the start sleep feature. Sometimes it refuses to sleep because it is processing something that I cannot see ala a scheduled task. |
