Re: Cant change color of desktop symbol font

Hi Borgfish,

If you mean the desktop icon text color, then this free little program called D-Color XP may help you. D-Color allows you to change the appearance of the desktop icon text foreground and background colors. It works fine in Vista.

Hope this helps,

Re: Cant change color of desktop symbol font

Hello,

thanks alot for the recommendation, but it doesnt change the color, maybe because of the shadow effects ? i got white symbol font on white background and vista seems to auto enable a black shadow arround the white font to make me able to read it.
anyways i wouldnt like a program that is resident on the right corner of my screen for such a purpose. maybe there are other ways ?

Re: Cant change color of desktop symbol font

Borgfish,

As a test to see if this will allow it to work, you can turn of the desktop icon shadows by unchecking Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop in the Visual Effects settings. This tutorial will show you how to.

Re: Cant change color of desktop symbol font

Re: Cant change color of desktop symbol font

I'm glad to hear that the program works for you now.

It's just not a feature of Vista. Vista will change the text color to blue for a compressed file and green for a encrypted file. I cannot remember if there are other colors right now, but no manually changing them just for the sake of it.
