Problem Event Windows Vista 32 bit......

I have the 32bit Vista Home Premium version. I ran a performance related diagnostic scan and received the below mentioned error:

Description
The results of running the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool were submitted to Microsoft for analysis and product improvement

Problem signature
Problem Event Name: MemDiagV1
Range of memory size: 3072
Launch type: Manual
Schedule type: Immediate
Completion type: Aborted
Test type: Custom
Failed tests: 10
Range of number of bad pages: 5
Test duration in seconds: 480
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Is there a fix for this?
Thanks Much

Hello WRXCoupe,

Welcome to the forums!

Test each stick individually with this...

Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

Run at least one full pass on each stick and replace any that you find bad.

Re: Problem Event Windows Vista 32 bit......

I purchased Memtest pro. Since Vista requires a Gig to run on and memtest only tests the free RAM how should I test the sticks individually?

Re: Problem Event Windows Vista 32 bit......

WRXCoupe,

I do not know the size of your RAM sticks, but Vista will run on just one 512MB stick. Slowly, but it will run. Just remove all but one RAM stick and perform the test with Memtest Pro, then repeat for each individual RAM stick.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Problem Event Windows Vista 32 bit......

You will be fine then with 1GB or 2GB sticks. It's just a matter of popping them in and out one at a time.

Hope they turn out to be ok.
