Removing XP off old drive...how?

Gday

I installed Vista on a new drive and all has gone well. My problem is that I cannot delete the old XP that resides on another drive. This is because of the inbuilt security feature that does not allow widows to delete or format windows partitions.

cheers

One way to do it, put it in an external enclosure (caddie) and it will do it from there.

You could use a boot CD that has AEFDISK.EXE on it and use AEFDISK to erase the partition. Just be careful when using AEFDISK so you don't erase the wrong partition or drive. You can download AEFDISK free online, but I'm not sure where to find it in a boot CD, except for maybe Ultimate Boot CD, which might have other ways to erase the partition. Check google for those.

You could put it in another computer. Boot the OS CD and delete the partition.
