hey all.

just recently i installed a program which DIDNT install correctly and through out the setup it gave me an error and i cancelled the setup.

now the program sorta installed it self in my comp but it doesnt work due to the setup not finishing,

i tried to install it a few times but it keep given me the error...

so here is the issue,

i really dont want the program and would like to get rid of it... it doesnt show up in the add and remove programs and the unistall.exe in the directory doesnt work.

i also have the program called "your uinstaller" and that cant find that program installed either...

so can any one help me get rid of this?

thanks

Hi inc188,

One way is to delete the folders and run a registry cleaner program (i.e. CCleaner or Wise Registry Cleaner or both). If you are familiar with the registry you can run the 'Fine' function and delete any entries with the name of the unwanted program. If not, don't attempt! You can also reboot to the latest restore point.

You can either contact the program manufacturers, and query their support site for a solution...

...failing that, have you tried just deleting the folder for it in Program Files (not recommended)?

i have not deleted the folder from program files because i understand that will not completely uinstall it... there still be shorts cuts and stuff left behind

Chances are then that the program you are trying to install is not 100% compatible with Vista (older versions of Nero 7 or earlier give this same error). So again I'd suggest contacting the program website and checking for an update.

Sure, just deleting the folder for this program may leave things behind in the registry, but I see no other alternative - the program hasn't installed properly, it doesn't work and you can't uninstall using proper methods. What else is there to do other than an old-fashioned Delete?
