System restore and defrag

On my old W98SE machine I had GoBack which performed the same purpose as Vista System Restore, but performing a defrag wiped out all restore points.
Can you perform a defrag on Vista without losing the restore points?

Doing a defrag in Vista will not delete any restore points. The only thing that will delete them is using Disk Cleanup, turning System Restore off, and a bug that deletes them when you dual boot with XP.
