Display brightness

Hi Ppl, I am currently using vista home premium but i cant find any where that i can adjust the display brightness. My frez's vista home basic have this function in the power option..

Where can i find mine?

Hi Undergrd,

Did you check the settings buttons on the monitor itself to see if they can adjust the brightness for you? Usually there is a reset option and one for brightness.

Nothing in Vista does that. Your friend's computer either has a manufacturer's tweak or a driver that adds a brightness function. There are any number of manufacturers that provide these software controls for monitors.

"You can make adjustments to your display to improve its brightness or contrast by using the controls that are usually found on the front of the monitor, but keep in mind that these adjustments will be less refined than if you use a calibration program." - Vista help

You can adjust brightness either (depending of your computer) in the BIOS, with your keyboard, Monitor or Through your display card monitor, it is maybe for the last one that your friend told you it did it with "Vista" settings.

It sounds like you are using a laptop. One thing to note, when you are connected to the mains many laptops have a different setting for brightness.
