Wireless Mouse Problem

Hi anybody, hope you can help.

I am running Windows Vista and I have a cordless mouse which requires a little gadget into slot a USB port.

My screensaver does not work when this little gadget is plugged in.

Is there a fix for this problem please.

Thanks Shawn, Brilliant, my screensaver now works after downloading the new driver.

Now for another problem I hope you can help with. I recently set up a 2nd monitor to help with web site work. Now every time I put my laptop to sleep, or reboot the machine, I lose the settings and I have to reset the two monitors so that the extra monitor is the 2nd monitor and not the first.

Can you help please.

Brian,

It sounds like a video driver problem. I would check to see if there is a new version available at the manufacturer's website and install it to see if it helps. If there is not a new one, then reinstall the current one to see if the it had just gotten corrupted.

No it wasn't the driver, I just unlugged the 2nd monitoe from the back of the machine and replugged it back. That reset the default displays ettings and all is working now.

Again, another problem has ocurred whlst finding an answer to the first problem.

All my desktop shortcuts have dissapeared from the desktop. They are still in the desktop folder but not on the desktop. Any ideas on how to get them back onto the desktop please. I've tried just about everthing I can think of and am worried I am going to recreate one of the first problems I had.

I would really appreciate an opion on this one.

Go into explorer , and then click on your username = do you see *2* desktop folders there? if so, then they need to be merged.

No worries - when you move your special folder(s) from their default location(s), you have to expect this to happen every now and again - some software developers just don't bother paying attention, and hard code paths in their apps instead of using the various system variables available to them....

And then, because of idiosyncrasies like this, people blame the OS for causing the problem....
