If only vista was like its forums!

Why, if only vista was like its forums, Nice, pleasant, bug free, willing to help and overall a pleasuarable place to be. Ok, can someone PLEASE tell me why Vista is so bad. I have used XP, MAC, 98 and NONE of them have had as many bugs as vista. sorry Microsoft, but you really did fail when making Vista, I am seriously, unless these bugs are fixed soon, thinking about totally removing vista from my life and going back to either XP or Mac!

What, specifically, are you having problems with?

Is an older application not working properly with the new security protocols? Does your hardware meet or exceed the minimum system requirements? Do you have digitally signed drivers for your hardware?

As much as I'd like to help, there's not really much to do untill you give more details...

My problem is that i cannot run a lot of the programs that i had running on other operating systems. I follow Microsofts advice on everything DOWN TO THE GROUND because i am like that, and still alot of stuff does not work. Sorry, it was just abit of a rant that i am getting sick and tired of vista not "meeting" the standards that it was supposed to.

Thanks Ted, i have done that, it still doesn't seem to allow certain programs to run. I am just about to try a total wipe of my OS just incase that is the problem, so i'll inform you when i have done

Errm, Final Fantasy 11 (the Playonline viewer i believe) Team Fortress 2 and Classic and also some movie editing software.

Hi Spencer,

It sounds as though some of your programs require updates to allow them to run under Vista. You can get these from the software manufacturer, if they provide them. Can you post a list of these programs so that I or someone else can see if there are any updates available for any of them? Without more details of the programs involved, there is not much else that we can do. Don't forget that Vista can run a good number of older programs, either natively or through adjusting the compatibility mode settings for the program. However, these programs were developed before Vista was released, and, as a consequence, some will work whereas some won't even when run in compatibility mode. The only solution here is to see if you can obtain an update from the software manufacturer.
