| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Strange folders Looking over my system today I find 2 folders have been created and I have no Idea what they are for... they are SWINDOWS.~LS and SWINDOWS.~BT. They appear to be some type of install directories, but I have no clue as to what... Can anyone shed some light on these? Thanks |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Strange folders In investigating further, these seem to be remnants of the SP1 install... I'm wondering if it is safe to delete them at this point... I hate the fact that Microsoft updates will sometimes leave behind crap... |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Strange folders Shawn, thanks for the answer, I hate the fact that Microsoft installs and updates leave behind so much crap, and will be running the sp1 Cleanup. I also run Vista Manager and iObit's Advanced Windows Care and defrag which helps keep clutter to a minumum... I appreciate the help... | Vista Ultimate x64 MAK, OpenSolaris 5, Gentoo 2008.1.... | Re: Strange folders Well, you have to look at it like this - if you installed SP1 and it *didn't* leave those folders around, then if you encountered a situation where you needed to uninstall Sp1, you wouldn't be able to and you'd be stuck with having to do a clean install from scratch. |
