.net framework

Hi,

I'm new at this and any help will be appreciated. I updated some system32 files so they can be able to comprehend 3rd party themes.

I installed my theme and I messed up so I had to go do a system restore. After that, I re-installed it and it worked out fine. Afterwards, once I restarted it, it keeps saying that "Microsoft.net framework 1.1 has stopped working"

I made a stupid move and took a bold risk by deleting the .net framework executable file in my common files. It stopped prompting but then a few days after I realized that I'm unable to run any Microsoft Office programs. Before I resolve to reformat my laptop (Which I really would not want to do), I would like to try and fix or re-install Microsoft.net framework (whichever version that is).

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm also confused because I checked the Microsoft sites and they said that Windows Vista comes with .net framework 3.0 and I got 1.1 prompting before, and then I checked again my system had 3.0 in the "Turn Windows Features On or Off" option. It's also weird because I noticed that I don't have any .net framework programs in my Add/Remove Programs list.

Please help

Re: .net framework

Windows Vista comes with .NET 3.0 preinstalled, but when you got the 1.1 components you most likely got them from the Office install - try performing a repair install on Office and see if that helps - it should verify all the required files integrity and replace missing / damaged files, so that might be the fee and easy ticket out.

And, for the record, I hope you've learned a lesson - don't go randomly deleting files because of an error message - find out *why* you're getting error messages in the first place.

Re: .net framework

yeah i know, it was kind of a habit of mine when I fail at installing my themes. This was the first time that it has ever happened and I have no idea what went wrong, thanks though
