System_service_exception

Hello everybody,

This is my first post so forgive me if it's misplaced.

I have a bit of a problem:

For a friend i orderd and assembled a PC, i've done this before for myself and 2 other friends so i'd like to consider myself "not a complete idiot (some parts are missing)"

Anyways, here's the deal:
Computer components came in and i assembled as it sould, turned the computer on and i had a blank screen telling me he had no input. All the divices looked like they were working but none were.
Sent the Motherboard back and had it replaced with the same motherboard i have, after assembly it turned out the motherboard was not the problem but the processor. So had that one replaced assembled it AGAIN and the computer finally ( after 3 weeks ) booted.
I created a Raid 0 configuration and started to install the computer with only 2gb of Ram in it ( 1x GEIL 2GB DDRII 800 MHZ) this resulted in some wierd things, at first the computer was able to partition the space on the harddrive and after that it started to give blue screens, turned out that one of the harddrives failed and is now underway back to the store (sigh)
So i preceeded installing windows vista 64 bit and after a long whait and one or two blue screens i got it to work, figuring that the automatic updates would take care of the BSOD i had while installing.

I thought wrong: Now i get Blue screens at random, sometimes when i try installing updates and even when i do nothing, i just let the computer on and then suddenly BOOM!! BSOD...

I have searched the internet to find a solution but i can't find any that's relavant to my case, the problem comes even when i downloaded all updates and also ( after a reinstall) without any additional drivers and/or updates installed.

I was hoping there would be a hotfix on the support site but i can't find any for windows Vista ultimate x64. Maybe you guys can share what you know?

Thank you, i found as much on the internet but this is still not really a solution...

i've now changed the Ram mudules, added an extra stick of 2 GB ram in the second slot thus disabling dual channal.
no i get these BSOD's:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
another iwth the code 0x0000007E and another with 0x0000007F

Re: System_service_exception

Hey Steven,

Thanks for all your help, i resolved the issue:

I bought some additional memory and inserted with 5-5-5-18 in stead of 5-5-5-15 and the computer ran stable on one stick of 2 GB, but after inserting an additional stick of the same it again started with the blue screens. Then i saw that SP1 was not installed.. Dóh!!
So i installed SP1 and rebooted, inserted the additional 2 GB and it booted without BSOD.
Then, just for the fun of it, i inserted an additional 4GB of the 5-5-5-15 memory and it booted again without BOSD.
I also changed the frequency of the memory to 667Mhz in stead of 800Mhz in the BIOS.
Now, as far as i can see the system is stable. ( it starts w/o Bsod's and in the beginning it would not even start in safe mode without Bsod's)
I'll test the machine some more so i'll update this later on but as for now the issue seems to be resolved.

Thanks!

Re: System_service_exception

Hi, my notebook has suddenly developed a mind of its own. Just after the login prompt, the screen goes black and stays there for a while (1 minute or more) and then comes up with a BSOD. This is the first time i am getting this error. The strange thing is that it was working alright till i shut it down. I have 4GB RAM/SP1. The errors are between 0x0000003B and 0x00000050. Even when i start in safe mode, it crashes. I am really stuffed here.
