How do i do this?

Its nice to meet you all! This is my first post here on this BOARD!
I usually do something a little crazy whenever I'm making a first post in a community chat board.

But seriously could anyone please teach me how to set up a "default" folder for certain windows programs?
For EXAMPLE--- I have a special personalized "BITMAP image" folder I especially made just for all my screen saver "custom reflections".......just to use for the windows screensaver classic "3-D TEXT" --- (that many people usually use for the digital CLOCK feature) --- which originally showed up for as one of the screen savers for Windows XP.
Anyway....many of you are probably very familiar with this screen saver since its very useful as a clock. Yet I happen to like using my own customized bitmap reflections.
In this screen saver's settings you must click on a button called--- "Use Custom Reflections" and opens up Windows Explorer. But it would be really NICE if I could make it automatically open right up to that specific image folder! So does anyone here know how to do that?
Thank you in advance for any good help or advice.
-----:D

By the way.. speaking of the Windows 3D Text screensaver It seems that the Vista version is no different than the original version on XP. In fact, it looks to me like IT IS EXACTLY the same version on both Vista and XP!
That is a bit of a surprise, and a disappointment....at least to me. Since I would have expected it to have been a wee-bit polished for Vista! After all, the main BIG difference that VISTA was supposed to be all about was in its GRAPHICS! As in 3D GRAPHICS,..right? So.... what the hell???? ---- Oh sure...."3D Text saver" was a good enough screensaver application for them to continue with in the next Windows version! But for them to have not even given it a slight bit of a graphical "touch up" in its 3D rendering capabilities, or anything....is a bit odd if you ask me!
I'd say Windows simply pulled a "half-ass" on that one! Meaning they went cheap on us!
OH....BUT they sure didn't forget about another old time classics screensaver.....called--- "MYSTIFY!" No sirree! They sure did go out of their way to polish up that USELESS screensaver that nobody uses! I guess they really wanted to mystify us all.....didn't they? Yeah, I'm certainly 'mystified' alright!
But seriously, who gives a 'rats ass' about "Mystify" compared to the practical usefulness of the "3D Text" screen saver--- with its mirror, chrome platted, floating TIME piece! You should see how cool mine looks! believe how cool my reflection looks in it!

So once again,,,,back to my question? How can I make it open up to my Bitmap collection Folder by "default"?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP! ;)

-------------These are some WINDOWS COMMERCIAL IDEAS---down below----

#1. Vista= better graphics! VISTA=3-D sleek graphics! VISTA....VISTA.....HOLY MOTHER OF --- LOOK OUT!!--- V=I=S=T=A= is coming!-- and its gonna BLOW YOUR MIND!!!

#2. WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF WINDOWS----- WELCOME TO "VISTA!"

#3. No no no, its NOT an LSD flashback! - Its Windows VISTA!

4. Vista will make you want to climb into your screen! But dont do it.....because its not really possible, even though it looks like it is!!! HAHA! --- VISTA!!!!

COol huh? I really got-a-lot-a good ideas for Windows VISTA comercials dont I??? But I dont think Microsoft deserves my creative brillance, when it goes "half-ass" on the 3D text screen saver!!! WHAT IS THE BIG IDEA, WINDOWS! WHY I, I'd, I'd break one of your windows if I had a virtual rock! WHY YOU!!!

Well no, unless the program specifically has the ability to set a default folder for files that it uses, then you can't change it.

And I really don't understand what your gripes are about 3D Text being the same as in XP. It's a screensaver! Nobody updates their OS because of screensavers, or pays attention to a screen saver anyway....

I think you misunderstood my silliness for seriousness.
I would have liked to have seen it improved, but honestly.....I don't really care. I only pretended to act as if my life revolves around it,,, or something like that!
Really, I am not that crazy! I probably should have clarified myself better. I appologize.

I am indeed a bit crazy, but all in good humor and silliness, and I enjoy making some of my normal internet messages a bit more silly and fun than they normally would be. Although I don't always have the time to play around like that.

especially when I need to go to sleep.....(like right now)...I get to acting like a retard and often regret it later on!

I am really a pretty cool person, as you should find out over time.

Yeah, well, your craziness may very well be confirmed by some. Apparently, you have to be a little nuts to WANT to use Vista. That is the general consensus that many believe. I'm not one of them. But if you intended to stay, then a dash of insanity is required to reply to some of the posts we get, so there is no need to apologize.

I for one, feel the need to apologize to you. I've often been accused of being too serious or too cerebral, and sometimes my replies to peoples posts come off a little cold or brutal. But thats just me.

Welcome to the forums.

Hey and thanks for the responses. I can totally understand what your saying. Plus, when I think of how many posts from people are very serious, and often they can be down right "rude".....and so its probably very easy to take someone like me the wrong way. But I am glad we got things cleared up, and I appreciate your welcoming me to these forums.

You mentioned how many people feel its CRAZY to use Vista? Why do you think they feel that way in general?

My own personal feelings towards Vista have been a little mixed. On the one hand I like some of the pretty looking features, such as the 3D window switcher on the Aero Theme. That is actually what really SOLD me on Vista more than anything else, and yet after you get to know it a little better, you realize its not really that useful...compared to the regular window switcher tool. Its more cool looking than anything else.
My one major complaint against Vista is when I compare to to XP......its as if some of the basic "Windows language" has been changed. What I mean by that is that certain basic windows applications have been changed around so that a person who is familiar with XP is almost lost when it comes to doing basic tasks like Searching the harddrive for folders or file types. You know what I mean?
Its great for them to enhance the visual look of Windows.....but they should not change the general framwork of it---- kind of like changing the language a bit, so to speak.

But I would like to know your opinion on what other people have disliked about Vista, while others like yourself feel more satisfied with it?

Do you think they could have done a better job on Vista?

Oh.....one more question. I have a brand new Desktop PC with with an "Intel - Q9450" (quad core) CPU running at 2.66 GHz.....with 4 Gigs of RAM, and an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT video card.

My question is whether or not its really all that important for me to upgrade my Vista from the 32 bit version to the 64 bit version? Would it be all that worth it for me to do that? What kind of difference would I notice, if any?

Thanks :)

To coin a phrase about Vista - "Microsoft finally got it right".

The two features that truly sold me on Vista was UAC and Windows Search. Although I must admit tthat I think maybe Microsoft could tighten UAC a bit more.

But to expand on what I said about being a crazy to use Vista - people don't like it BECAUSE it's Microsoft. Chances are if you stick around here long enough, you'll run into a few of those guys that are here only to try and convince you to not use Vista. We call them trolls, they call us fanboys. Heed my words - when Windows 7 is released sometime in 2010, these same trolls are going to hate us for wanting to use it, while they absolutely adore Vista.

Repeating what I said in answer to you question. I think Microsoft got it right with Vista. But there is still room for improvement.
