user accounts disappear after upgrading to business

I had Vista Home Basic installed on this computer, and I recently upgraded it to Vista Business. Now its like a totally new installation..how do i recover accounts from the home basic?

No, he means he performed an upgrade but it seems to have instead performed a clean install...

Are you *sure* 100% you upgraded?

Yes. I figured out what to do also, partly thanks to Bare Foot Kid. I figured I'd have to do this sort of creating a new username, and re-adding the info back into that account..but I was hoping there would be a way to register the old usernames with the new vista, and then activate them using net user so i didn't have to go through all this. It was pretty crappy of microsoft to make you do all this work for the upgrade. I would assume most people would just be lost and start over?
