Re: computer management wont start!

hmmm you shouldn't really have any problems with accessing this.... unless your not an administrator!?
try right clicking and running as an administrator and see if that helps other than that i cant realy help with this one... however im sure brink, dmex or someone ells may be able to help you later on however a little patiance will be required as they could be at work
remember this site is run by people in there spare time as are most other sites!

Re: computer management wont start!

Try click start > run

type compmgmt.msc > press enter

See if that will launch it.

and i tried your suggestion but just the same as above i get the UAC and then nothing.

ill just wait a bit and see if anyone else has any ideas.

Hello Braydon, welcome to Vista forums!

What firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware are you using?

Re: computer management wont start!

hehe what's the betting it was Norton.... its gotta be..... Norton seems to be a virus magnet more than anti virus

well if it is my recommendation is to completely un-install Norton and start again with the likes of.... avast anti virus and comodo firewall
they are both free

Re: computer management wont start!

Hi,
Click Start, Run and type: regsvr32 msxml3.dll

EDIT:
Well, i saw in another post that you have shutdown problems, then run the command prompt as administrator and type:
sfc /scannow
Once finished, type in:
findstr /C:"[SR] Cannot repair" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt
Open the sfcdetails.txt (in system32 folder) and have a look which files cannot be repared (if any)
