vista sleep waking up for no apparent reason

when i put vista home premium in sleep mode it wakes up within 2 minutes...this is a new situation which was working fine before...

i downloaded logmein so someone could help me install outlook 2003 which now is installed...i have disabled logmein...that is the only new thing which i did..can someone give me a clue as to why it wakes up. i am on line with a modem to optonline.net, have symantec firewall and anti virus running and HP Advisor comes up with every startup...Please help.....

Hi nfastenberg and welcome to Vista forums!

Can you open a command prompt (cmd.exe) and type in: powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

Then please post the result.


 

My Computer

I had the same problem after installing SP1 but not sure this is the cause. The last time my computer woke from sleep by itself I went to Event Viewer and saw that the APC Services was the culprit, I disabled it and all is well again. I don't know if this relates to you but check your event viewer next time and you may find the culprit as I did.
