Logon to another user causes System to be unstable

My system autologon to a user.

If I log out and log in to another user, many things get unstable, like:
    Gadgets don't completely load.
The startup menu never populates the bottom section with it's options

Also, I cannot run the system rating stuff. It all just hangs.

If I go to event viewer, I see a few WMI fatal errors. Is this standard vista bugs at this point, or do I have a real problem here?

This is a stock Dell Optiplex 755 computer, nothing added, straight out of the box.

It has no readyboost, and has 4G of memory, Inter dual core 3.13G processor.

Gadgets are, IIRC, user specific - gadgets that one user loads will not necessarily load for all other users unless that other user also loads....

Also, can you be more specific with
startup menu never populates the bottom section with it's options
    ?

    Finally -
... a few WMI fatal errors
    are most definitely ***not***
    standard vista bugs
    - there is no such thing as a standard Vista bug.....

ok, what I meant was that I can log out, and even relogin to the same account and the gadgets just hang. There are only 3 of them, clock, weather and news, loaded by Dell.

Relogging in, the news says 'please wait, loading', the clock shows 12:00 and weather says loading. Forever.

The startup menu is the 'welcome screen'. The top showing your computer specs and bottom showing icons of things you can do in windows. The top shows ok on relog, but the bottom just sits empty, and the cursor spins forever.

    So, relog makes system unstable

OK, so you're saying that logging off and logging back on causes system instability. Sounds like you need to verify the integrity of your system files - something isn't working correctly after a log off.

Run the following command in a CMD window:

    Code:
    SFC /SCANNOW
