Vista - urgent -- download problem through vista

i am facing problem while trying to save any file, document, or video thorugh vista. its give me an option to choose the location for save the folder, then after finish the downloading. nothing appear .. when i tried to search for a file its showes me a shortcut for it and its not working .. please help me regarding this issue..

Hi, elissar, and welcome to the forums.

Can you detail exactly what you are trying to do and how it is doing it? For example, what software are you using to download, where are you telling it to save your files, what happens when you save to the desktop, etc?

i am very happy to join this fourm. My problem that when I am trying to save or open any document, File, or attachment. I can’t do it. When I choose open, its downloading and after finished. It’s not playing or opening, the pop windows just closed by its self. When I choose save on desktop or C or any location on computer it’s downloading and after finished nothing appears in that location. When I tried to search by file name.. it’s just give me a shortcut for that file in different location which I choose to save and its not open. Please I need a solution for this problem.
Your help is really appreciated.

Hi elissar,

What AV software do you use?
Try this: disable AntiVirus and firewall, then download a secure file like a txt file or jpeg, ect. (of course don't download an exe file or similar while AV is disabled)

i have been checked my anti-virus (AVG Anti-Virus 8.0), i changed some settings on it, and i enabled the firewall too. after all that my probelm is resolved now
