Vista HP cannot see XP shared printer

Vista Home premuim. Network settings correct on both PCs. From Vista I can ping the XP by IP address and by Computer name. From Vista I can map a drive on the XP using either IP or computer name.
However In Network XP PC name is present but double-click says no access.
Shared printer on XP is not found by Vista Add Printer.
XP can see Vista in Network Places and double-click shows shared folders.
What is next step?

My Computer

On the xp machine click on the printer.
There is sharing options within the drivers.
You have to tell the printer it is shared.

Did you read the question fully?
If I can map a drive to the XP PC, then surely when I double-click the XP PC's icon in Vista's Network, it should not come up as No Access.

Setting the printer on the XP as shared is so basic I didn't say that I had already done it. I thoughgt that would be understood.

You should try to make yourself more clear then.

Why is the title misleading? The Vista Home Premium cannot see the XP shared printer.
Isn't that straightforward? How else can it be read?

FWIW, doug, I understood exactly what you wrote - but I still agree that it could have been stated a bit more clearly - such as Vista machine cannot see shared printer from XP machine - you might have to use abbreviations to get it to fit but other than that it would have been a bit more clear.

Your original post is pretty clear to me as well, but it could have been a bit more polished, such as by using conjunctions and such.

You have to realize - it may seem clear as glass to you but someone else might think it is as clear as mud.
