would like help on different versions of vista

hey everyone,

My mother has decided that she wants to "learn the internets", as she called it. At first, I tried to build her a computer out of spare parts I had, but it turned out that the motherboard I had has bad capacitors (my bro is an electrician, and he identified that little problem for me). So when I told my mother, she simply decided that she wanted a laptop.

So, I have bought her a cheap laptop. And with cheap, I mean the very cheapest I could find, which still had reasonable specs. It's a packard bell with a celeron 2 Ghz processor, 2 GB of ram and 160 GB hard drive. More than enough for my mom to browse the internet with. And it was only 400 euro's, so that's fine. It's going to be delivered tomorrow.

However, I only just noticed that it comes with vista home basic.
Now, all of my own research into this has only resulted in 2 basic differences between home basic and home premium.... and that is the aero interface (which, really, my mom couldn't care less about) and something with allowing 5 connections instead of 10.

Does anyone know of any other differences that might make it worth it to upgrade the laptop to home premium, or should home basic be good enough for my mother to browse with?

She will be using wired internet, as she's afraid someone will break into her computer otherwise (yes, I know, I tried to explain to her that I could make that very very difficult....) and she will probably only use the computer to browse the internet and play some very very basic card and board games on the computer. If it turns out she likes it, she might graduate to MSN messenger or skype, but I'm not holding my breath.... it took her 5 years to figure out the remote control to the TV, so learning how to even turn on the computer will be a challenge. (I'm serious on this one....)

It's just that there's some marketing stuff in there because of which I simply don't get it. I mean, for home basic it doesn't have a check mark with "best choice for laptops" but what the heck does that mean???
