    and as usual this only affects the two CDs

    That's a strange problem Zhang. Try removing the CDs and rebuilding the icon cache to see if it helps any.

    looks like more problems started
    the CD drive now normally disappears into oblivion, it does not show up in my computer and doesn't react to anything inserted but the drive is open-able (in the physical world)
    and i kills the electric supply to the CD drive !!!
    physical or virtual problem ?
    tried the icon rebuild but still not working
