Vista Tutorial - Wallpapers blank in Desktop Background

My desktop background is having problems, because my wallpapers show as blank.

Could you give just a little more detail?
Have you been through the Right click desktop - select personalize, sequence?

Hi Whistler,

In addition to Dave's post, you might check to see if the TIP box at the top of this tutorial may be the issue.

Hi,

Brink and davehc, the problem is this

The desktop background appears as a blank, black screen when the Bubbles screen saver runs in Windows Vista

But only to view the wallpapers in 16bits when I leave, this happened after removal of a spyware

This tutorial will show you how to change the Color Depth back to 32 bit if you have not already done so.

Hi Whistler,

Please check the following folder to see if the files 'img25.jpg' to 'img29.jpg' inclusive are still there. These are the 5 images which make up that category in the walllpapers selection. Just out of interest, is it just that category that has no images to select, or has this problem affected all of them?

Ok, I see Whistler.

Since you do not have any default Vista images listed to choose from, see if running a sfc/ scannow command can restore them for you afterwards.

Strange Whistler. Do you have blank thumbnails on all of your images, or just these?
