Screen Saver Isn't Activated!

Hey guys,
I just got a new computer, and I got Vista x64 on it.

The problem is that the screen saver won't turn on after the time set.
What can I do??

BTW, I am using a wireless set of Microsoft keyboard and mouse.

I just can't find the Microsoft HID Non-User Input Data Filter update.

Could someone provide me with a direct download link?

I don't have an issue with this as I still use a PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

Hi Guyolito,

This is very strange. I have had a look at the Microsoft website and I can't locate a direct link to this anywhere. It seems as though this is only available through the Update service. Try the following, and if this doesn't work then you might need to contact Microsoft directly about it as other people may have the same problem.
Click the start orb and type 'Windows Update' into the search box and press enter/return. Click 'Check for updates'. When the scan has finished, click 'View available updates'. If this update appears, then click to select it and then click 'Install'. You will need to provide administrative credentials. If not, return to the main screen and select 'Change settings'. Make sure that both 'Recommended updates' and 'Update service' are both enabled (ticked). Click 'OK' and provide administrative credentials if you have changed a setting. If you have changed a setting, repeat the scan. If you get the same result, return to the main screen and check to see whether or not you have inadvertently hidden this update on a previous ocassion. Click 'Restore hidden updates'. If this update is listed, click to select it and then click 'Restore'. You will need to provide administrative credentials. Return to the main screen and repeat the above procedure.

I also wanted to contact Microsoft, but I couldn't find any e-mail adress of theirs to contact.

I would appreciate if you could post some support e-mail adress of Microsoft, or maybe just a link to download the update.

I have been having this issue too, for a few weeks, and no Windoze updates were missing. . .I just now solved it!

1) Load your device manager
2) click the + next to network adapters
3) right click your primary network
4) select properties
5) click Power Management
6) uncheck the box Allow This Device To Wake The Computer
7) Click OK
8) Close device manager
9) hope this works for you too!
