    "minibcont" skin load error

    Hey,

I own a dell inspiron 1520, and just had comcast provide my internet services.

When i restarted my computer after they left, i got a message that reads as below:

Failed on loading skin name "minibcont". The file "shell.css" is required in your
    "sscommon/skins/minibcont/css/" directory.
To fix this problem, please check the skin name in your config file, or reinstall the application.

I called comcast about this issue, and they say that everything shows up as being ok with my service.

can someone please help me with this?
    thank you

Hi Fstik, and welcome to Vista Forums.

This is reported as being a error due to a problem with Dell Support Center, you can uninstall the Dell Support Center program to fix the problem, and reinstall if you wish.

    Hope this helps,

We can't delete the Dell Support Centre because our computer is constantly saying it is in the process of uninstalling something. But it isn't. Seems to be same problem experienced by Ross.uk.

    What should we do?

Hello Ross and Kim, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might see if you can uninstall it from Safe Mode.

    Hope this helps,

    Re: "minibcont" skin load error

    Hello Shawn

I've now tried uninstalling the Dell Support Centre through Safe Mode but it said "The Windows Installer could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."

    Any ideas?

You might contact Dell support to see what they have to say. I'm not sure what else to suggest.
