Hi,

Via my university I can download the Vista Business installation cd's (4 of them) for free.

Problem is when I try installing it, it somehow encurrs an error. Everything goes smoothly untill the installation of Vista asks for CD 2. When I enter this cd with the burned image and click ok, I incurr the following error.

"Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation. Error code: 0xE0000100"

I've looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything that helps.

*MS suggests downloading the Service Pack 1 for Vista, but if Vista isn't installed this cant help, now cannit.

*Some said to "Disable RAID in Bios", but I only have one hard drive so this isn't an issue. (I thought Raid only came into play when you had more than 1 hard drive).


Could anyone please help me out here. It's really frustrating to always encounter the same problem, and not finding any solutions.

I only had 2 disks in my Vista Box,

Install on 32-Bit and install in 34-Bit.

Are you sure you are using the right installation CDs?

Fmjc001 - are you sure you're not referring to DVDs? In CD version it will be a minimum of 2 (stripped down), and at least 3 for a moderately full copy with little removed, and should be easily 4 CDs for a full Vista installation set.

HI, JDJDJD, and welcome to the forums.

As with anything that is downloaded, it could easily be a corrupted disc 2 ISO that you have - have you tried to burn a second copy of that same ISO? If that does not work, try downloading that second disc again, replacing the ISO you currently have with the newly downloaded one and see if that helps.

Be advised that this may happen again with the 3rd and 4th discs as well.

I only had one disk to install. . .and it had all versions on it. Maybe i got a different copy or something...

Same deal at my school; however, they made a point of saying that if you wanted to burn Vista to bring in a DVD. Perhaps your issue is as simple as getting another copy on a DVD instead of multiple CD's?
