| Vista Premium 32bit | Orphaned Owner Profile - Want to Recover I accidently orphaned the Owner profile. I have no way of accessing the account. I do have another Admin logon that I am using. Is there a way to assign a new user to the orphaned Owner profile, or do I need to create a new user and set up everything again? Thanks. Jerry |

| Vista Premium 32bit | Re: Orphaned Owner Profile - Want to Recover When using "Control Userpasswords2" to modify the password, I deleted the user Owner. Even though the user Owner no longer exists, the Owner's files are still in place. I'd like to assign a user to those files/profile. Is that possible? Thanks. Jerry |

| Vista 64-bit Ultimate Win7 64-bit Ultimate XP SP3 32-bit Pro | Re: Orphaned Owner Profile - Want to Recover Hello Jerry. The first thing that comes to mind is at the link below. I'm not sure that fits here though, will look around. Take Ownership of file If this doesn't do it, have a look at the Vista forums tutorial section on your own. Keep us informed! Later Ted |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Orphaned Owner Profile - Want to Recover Hi Jerry, and welcome to Vista Forums. I would see if creating a new user account, then copy those files into the same location for the new account instead would do the trick for you. Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista Premium 32bit | Re: Orphaned Owner Profile - Want to Recover Brink, Ultimately that's what I did. I created a new user, set up the desktop, and copied the folders into the new desktop. Next thing is to change the ownership using the tutorial Bare Foot Kid noted. All's ok now. Thank you. Jerry |
