Vista - Vista Freezes When Create New Folder/Move/Delete Action Is Attempted

Hopefully this is in the right place...

I've had my laptop for about a year; without fail every time i move, delete or rename a file or folder or try to create a new folder, explorer freezes and I have to go into task manager and end the process/task. The file/folder always shows up where it is supposed to be after explorer reboots itself, but it is so tedious and painful when I'm trying to get anything done. I stumbled on something on some forum that said third party services are causing it, but I have no idea what this means/how to fix it/etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Hi blg25, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You might try running a sfc /scannow command to see if it can find and fix any bad system files that may be the cause of this.

If the above does not help, then you can also try doing a System Restore using a restore point dated before you had this problem.
