Vista Home Premium 64 - BSODs

I've been lurking here for a few days now pouring over the tutorials and searching threads that might help me get to the bottom of my BSOD issues with a new PC and clean install of Vista Home Premium 64, but now it's time to call in the professionals!

BSODs occur randomly while performing various tasks (internet browsing, gaming, etc) and even while sitting idle.

I ran a CHKDSK /f /r and it returned clean results.
I ran the memory diagnostic tool and that came up clean as well.
I am running all the latest drivers I could find.

My BIOS is NOT current - The Mobo manufacturer does not have updated BIOS files available. I spoke to their tech-support and they said "probably" Monday they will have them.
*I just received updated BIOS from the Mobo manufacturer, keeping my fingers crossed this helps, but I'd really appreciate some help in case there are other issues obvious in the dump files that need to be resolved*

PC components are in my sig.

I've attached the dump files from Aug 15 (6 files) as a zip and also included a screenshot of the Reliability and Performance Monitor for the same day.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can provide to help!

Thanks in advance for any help, I am deeply appreciative

Well the BIOS update did not appear to fix the BSOD issue, it just happened again

Re: Vista Home Premium 64 - BSODs

My initial thought is that your problem is the board; in that it isn't tuned. DFI's are not for your average user and they've never reacted well when left on Auto. If you're into fine tuning, get a DFI, but if not, the boards have so many options that it can give the novice fits. Once tuned they're simply amazing, but you do have to spend some time with them.

Praz is very good at tuning DFI's, look for his posts and adjust your settings accordingly, see how it goes: LP UT X-48 DDR3 - LP UT X48-T3RS DDR3 Board. - DFI Club Global Support Forum

Re: Vista Home Premium 64 - BSODs

Thanks for that link! I'll start playing around with some of those settings and report back.

I'm starting to realize that the DFI is an "advanced" board but I have faith I'll get it all sorted out...with help of course

Thanks again!

Re: Vista Home Premium 64 - BSODs

Good luck and have fun.

I would read every X48 thread on the site I could find. I would also see if you can find any screenshots of settings with your memory. DFI's are very finicky when it comes to RAM, and each kit will like different settings; finding yours is really going to make life easier.

Unfortunately, your board is so new that there aren't a lot of entries into the stock speed database or the overclocking database; however, I'm sure after enough digging, you'll find your kit and the perfect settings.

I'm not familiar with reading dump files, but that latest one mentions sidebar.exe. Could that not be causing a problem?
