| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Can i upgrade my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb with Vista Ultimate x64 OS? Hello everyone, I am new here in the forum. I just bought a new desktop with a Vista Ultimate x64 Operating System. I am just wondering if anyone can answer my question if I can upgrade my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb. I am using:

| Vista Ultimate 64bit | Re: Can i upgrade my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb with Vista Ultimate x64 OS? hi tangster03, wellcome to the forum, using Vista 64 bit of operating system can use 4 to 8gb of memory or even 16gb depending on your slot in your mobo. as i can see you have another 2 slots remaining. you can plug another memory on it. my best advise is use same memory that you use in your mobo for RAM compatibility. They are finicky with RAM, so your normal higher voltage performance stuff may not work too well on it. I went with this: HP2-6400 DDR2 - Mushkin Enhanced It works at 800Mhz at 5-5-5-18 timings with no problems, at the ideal voltage for the board. |

For now I am not seeing any errors concerning voltages. But I only have 4Gb of RAM, will it work on 8Gb? |
