I'm new to Vista and this is a brand new computer, although I know it has problems. Something is up with the motherboard. I've already called to get it replaced. The network card just stopped working. I've got a usb wired card until HP service can get this fixed on the 29th.
I get this error immediately after trying to install. It pops right up and says "[program name] Setup has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I got this with at least the following programs:
PeaZip
TomTom Home (it's the software that updates my gps)
7zip (I finally got this one working by installing an older version, but had to try a few files first).
Yahoo Widgets
That's all I could think of for now. It's getting really frustrating. And I've already had the BSOD once. I've only had the computer for 4 days! ouch.
Any advice is appreciated. This is Vista Home Premium X64 SP1 and I ran all the updates right away. I also took off the Symantec software. I'll use some, but I'm gonna use the one I get from work. It doesn't have all that extra phishing junk. I just want it to keep an eye out for viruses.
