Low virtual memory

Hi, um lately well for the past 2 days i have been having virtual memory problems but thet have never happened to me before in the 1 year that i had this pc and the weird thing is that its not like all the ram is being used only like 1.05GB ram is being used so i dont know why the computer is using virtual memory. i was wondering if this problem can be solved this is ver frustrating cause it closes my programs and interrupts wat im doing without saving i was playing the sims 2 and i lost all the progress that i made because of the dam low virtual memory, at the time the only program i had running was the sims 2 and nothing else and ive played the sims 2 so many times in the past and never have i gotten this error, this also happens when i am just browsing the web.

Re: Low virtual memory

Hi Chaos,

You may want to try freeing up some hard drive space on your computer. See my post here: Please Help and follow the directions to clean up the shadow copies and old restore points. You might want to defragment your hard drive afterwards fo good measure.

Re: Low virtual memory

press WIndows logo key + Break key.
click Advanced tab, then under Performance, CLick settings, under Performace options, click Advanced, under Virtual memory, click change, select C drive, click Custom size, and enter the initial and maximum paging size (in MB).
For ex: if you've got 1 GB RAM installed, then initial size will be 2048 (MB) and then maximum size will be 4028 (MB).
The idea is you need to set the initial and the maximum paging size by multiplying it by 2 and by 4 respectively.
Hope that Works ! ! !
